I received my last week in Lawrence, Kansas….I live in Johnson County and know I need an attorney. There are quite a few in this area however I have no idea who the best ones are. PLEASE if you know who I should contact send me the name. Thanks.

And yes I know I totally screwed up and realize this may end up being very pricey and I may NEVER drink and drive again, however I just don’t want to loose my license.

    Go onto bbb.com and type in attorneys near your zip code. They will list a bunch, you can click on their individual listings and then scroll down a bit and you can see something that will let you look up their bar status to see if they are a practicing lawyer, any complaints on them and if they are in trouble with the bar.

    If you want your best bet, talk to the Prosecutor and find out what the first offense plea deal is for that area.

    Either that or you can hire an attorney who will tell you your charge can be beat. He’ll string you along for a while, file some motions, send you some paperwork, delay the case for a while, and eventually he’ll call you and offer you the same deal the Prosecutor would have given to you without an attorney. The only difference is he charges you $10,000.

    Best to use a designated driver, it’s much easier.
